Please take advantage of the following government scheme:- The pre-matric scholarship scheme for minority community families earning less than Rs. 1 lakh per year, in Maharashtra. HOW TO APPLY:- The parents of minority community students are supposed to give declarations about their (1) community and (2) income on separate Rs. 10 stamp papers. However, now the state government has decided to accept the declarations on plain papers. PLEASE CONTACT:- School Principal & The school education and sports department, Mumbai. NUMBER OF SEATS AVAILABLE - The centre has granted only 36,800 scholarships for Maharashtra:- Muslims 21,680 Bodhs 12,340 Christians 2,240 Sikhs 460 Parsis - 80 WHO CAN BENEFIT :- The families with least income will be provided a scholarship. Declarations will be taken from students after they are declared eligible for the scholarships so that people dont end up spending Rs. 200/- unnecessarily. The scholarships for minorities were approved in July under the Prime Ministers 15-point programme for the welfare of minority communities.
