In response to this line in Sam's post, viz: "He can always build another Cidade the legal way and he would be highly respected if he did that.
I would like to repost my earlier post on goanet which is:-

Subject: SUICIDE DE GOA OR CIDADE DE GOA??

When one feels over-confident and invincible, trouble comes knocking at the
door. This is unavoidable and I know from first hand experience.

It seems that Audhut Timblo will now be reviewing his friendship with many a
past and present politicians and bureaucrats who ill advised him and made
merry at his cost.

In the end, he is the sole person who will have to hold the heavy bag.

Being a personal friend, I sympathize with him for all the heartaches and
humiliation he will presently undergo in view of the Order of the Hon.
Supreme Court with the CIDADE De GOA not remaining the Cidade at all.

But we have full faith that the Audhut's heart-beat 'The CIDADE' will once again arise from the ashes of the demolition squads and be the 'Cidade' that
we all loved and appreciated by Goa and Goans once again.

At this moment, I sincerely urge Audhut to review the bad advices given to
him w.r.t. filing the Rs. 500 crore defamation suit in the HC of Calcutta
against Sebastian Rodrigues by withdrawing it entirely and completely, if
possible by extending sincere apologies to Sebastian Rodrigues and the Goa
Su-Raj Party of which Sebastian is a lifetime member. It is not necessary
for Audhut to know the amount of good-will that will come crashing-down on
him in this his time of sorrow.

Others who feel over-confident and invincible please beware

PS: If I am not mistaken it was Venantius who had corrected my mistake 'UNvincible' as Un-invincible :-))

Subject: [Goanet] Boycott Hotel Cidade de Goa

Seb DC
So you say, since people will loose jobs, make illegal thing legal! & to
understand this you have to stay at the hotel & experience. What is your
logic, IF I MAY ASK ?

I hope you get a mouthfull from Samir to know more about goa and goans.

Seb, I can only pray that this Gulf International gets some brains.

Btw, as I have been thinking more deeply I find that this is the problem
about these mine owners of Goa.

They seem to be clearly incapable of doing business the straight and legal
way. Why, is it some kind of an addiction like that of a kleptomaniac ?
I have seen the Ambanis have it. Even when they are making billions
due to entrepreneurship (hopefully), they want to make their extra
money by cheating/chicanery/ corruption/ illegality. I guess it is
in the genes and just won't go away. Probably it comes from the town
called "chor bazaar' from where the elder Ambani came from.

I think it wouldnt cost Timblo much to respect the supreme court judgement.
He can always build another Cidade the legal way and he would be highly
respected if he did that. But why wouldnt he do it ? Is it some kind
of a psychological insecurity ? Or that they are just used to making
money the easy way and dont want to bother their brains any more?
If so, it is clearly arrogance and that is just intolerable.

regards,
Samir
