Jose,

As I have been saying all along no journalist or activist can be trusted,
whether in the mainstream or on the fringes. The lure of sensationalism and the
zeal to promote one's own point of view trump ethics and honesty.

Here, the Times of India breaks a story that activists tampered with evidence,
citing an official investigative report. The activists retaliate, claiming that
TOI is being misled by a government leak, not the actual report. TOI then
claims that the activists are misleading the public, citing actual quotes from
the report. The Hindu then reports that the Supreme Court has castigated the
media for leaking the actual report. Now the Hindustan Times claims that the
TOI claims are false. Please note the title of the latest claim:
"Gujarat riots witnesses not tutored: SIT"

Please note below the sum total of the substance on which the above title is
based:

QUOTE
Asked about the leaked contents of the report, the SIT chief, R. K. Raghavan
told Hindustan Times that he could not confirm whether the leaked contents were
true.

"I am answerable only to the Supreme Court. The alleged reported leaks appear
to be inspired by dubious motives. I cannot confirm such claims. The act is
highly condemnable," Raghavan said.
UNQUOTE

Now, please tell me how we can trust any of these journalists and activists.

Cheers,

Santosh
