Before 61 Goans have received migrants from the south to work in the Marmagao
docks. The then town (now city) of Vasco da Gama was called 'Terra dos
ghantis'. Apres 61 saw the non-controllable arrival from the union which is
causing a lot of concern to Goans.

A few days a pro-liberation patato was cursing the ghantis and the bharat
government for the current situation in Goa. He was wondering as to why the
bharat were not giving special status to Goa. Clearly if Goa is filled with
people like Ana Goswami who have no affintity for Goa and warmly welcome the
outsiders to do trivial work, how can the flow of migrants stop?

Will Goanet conduct a poll on migration into Goa? Or does it not have the bols
because of its left wing leanings?

If it weren't for 'outsiders' who buy our heritage/ancestral homes and
maintain them beautifully, they would go to seed. Rich goans in the US,
England, Australia, etc. do they want to come back to Goa, NO.      In
Saligao, aldona, Arpora, Assagao, lots of 'outsiders' have bought old
houses, restored them and are happily living in them.

Dont Goans go to the Gulf, England, etc. of v arious classes, buy houses and
live there, so why are we against migrant people.
