The Camoes statue is placed in one of the corridors of a church in Old Goa. In
the late sixties terrorists planted bombs to bring the statue down, but failed.
Thanks to the bandodcar pogrom the bust of Vasco da Gama also disappeared
overnight from the square in Pangim and so did the statue of Afonso de
Albuquerque from the Miramar circle which is now sinking.
