Dear Bernado, The "corridors of a church" you talk about are the galleries of the Archaeological Survey of India museum at Old Goa at the convent portion of the church of St. Francis of Assisi. [http://www.asi.nic.in/asi_museums_oldgoa.asp] The terrorists you see are probably another man's freedom fighters. The "Bandodcar pogrom" you imagine was a post-colonial reaction/policy of those who ascended power in Goa in 1963. The Pangim you mention is Panaji today, though I would have been happier to call it as everyone else does here, 'Ponn'je'. The statue of Afonso de Albuquerque from the Miramar circle you lament the loss of was replaced by a statue to Goan unity (a bit stereotyped in its depiction of a couple of Goan Hindu and Christian, I presume, males... and the torch from their hand has long vanished... perhaps symbolic of the mistrust we let grow among and within diverse communities here). Just curious to know: what gave you the impression that the Miramar circle is "sinking"? As far as flame-baits goes, yours was a well crafted one :-) FN -- FN +91-9822122436 P +91-832-2409490 Konkani adages http://konkani-adages.notlong.com/ Medieval Goa http://medieval-goa.notlong.com/
