Mariano,
Is it possible to name the titles of the records that you have with you.?
My this request is cause a friend of mine has already purchased some
records from Mumbai/Goa but his is not commercial interests.

FN,
If am not mistaken copyright permissions are to be obtained only from Saregama
since they have taken over from HMV.

Godfrey Gonsalves had written a post on 17th dec 08 on Goanet about Konkani Vinyl records in peril at Air-Panaji and had requested the Dalgado Konknni Academy to highlight this issue at the two day convention on 21st December, 2008 in Margao, to demand from the Govt of Goa to pursue this issue with AIR Panaji. I had also written to TAG about highlighting this issue...but till date there has been no response.

Not only old records but I would also appeal to all Goemkars to digitalise their old Konkani
cassettes which are also fast disappearing.

Hi Mariano, Sigrid Pfeffer
[http://www.mail-archive.com/goanet-n...@lists.goanet.org/msg01308.html]
is currently working on the task and, in my opinion, doing a good job.
Being a professional sound recordist, she is good at her job. Hence
the focus on LPs and records rather than lower-quality MP3s.

But the long-term goal is also to preserve this music and ensure that
it survives the test of time. Rather than 'disposing' or selling off
these records (wherever available) it would be best if they could be
protected and preserved for the future generations. Of course, the
minefield of copyright and permissions needs to be gone through before
reproduction and replication can be thought of.

An appeal to all: please take care of any old records if you have
them... on day this might be the only link to Konkani cataram's
musical past. FN
