Nascy, are you suggesting they were "fake" because (i) they didn't fight with arms (ii) they didn't believe in a future without the Portuguese -- either as part of the Indian Union or seeking autonomy (iii) not all who got freedom fighter status really belonged there (iv) after 1961, many failed to keep tackling issues of contemporary relevance (though a few did).
