------------ Frederick Noronha wrote: Trivialising a debate : Goa Inquisition
Gilbert definitely isn't saying there was "no Inquisition". He's questioning the manner in which the Inquisition has been written about over the years, then and now, and by whom. ------------- GL responds: Thanks Frederick for the clarification, for those who need to be spoon-fed. The usual dictum is: "Eyes read and brain understands what the mind knows." Some try to get notoriety and popularity by being a 'goan crab'. Surely Frederick and a few others appreciate the hypocrisy and humor of same individuals who condemn abuses of power by those in authority in the 16-17-18 century. Yet, they are adamant against any exposure of abuses and nefarious manipulation by those in position of authority TODAY - like doctors and scientists. Interesting dichotomy! Those who do not find this an "interesting dichotomy", I suggest, to check the weed be it in California's Bay Area or Goa's Anjuna beach. It is not medical marijuana, even if it is sold as such.:=)) Regards, GL
