Dear Roland That was a very nice piece. Living in Bombay, some of the places mentioned by you are familiar to me. Some of the landmarks like Bastani's have closed down. Other Irani restaurants have sold out as they fetched good real estate prices due to their strategic locations. You may have perhaps missed mentioning that the Rajasthani jewellers on Charni Road speak fluent konkani, enough to put a goan to shame, which adds to the atmosphere of little Goa. Many Goa bound buses have their starting point just a little distance away.Another landmark is a home for the aged which has been run by lay people for over 140 years which itself is a creditable record.
