Help other CONSUMERS to be better informed ----------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------- GOACAN to ensure people's participation during UN Decade of Action on Road Safety -------------------------------------------------------- On occasion of the launch of the United Nations Decade of Action on Road Safety on 11th May, GOACAN has resolved to intensify its efforts to make Road Safety and Traffic Management a people's movement.
GOACAN will adopt a multi-pronged strategy to involve people at the Village Panchayats and Municipal Councils through Road Safety & Traffic Management Committees for planning, participation & implementation. During the forthcoming academic year on the campus GOACAN will promote the importance of the Road Safety Patrol (RSP) and garner support for the State Road Safety Week to be observed in the first week of July. GOACAN will also promote the Traffic Warden Scheme at the Village & Municipal Council level to ensure citizens participation in making Road Safety a priority in the neighbourhood. With the formation of the State & District Road Safety Councils GOACAN will seek the assistance of teachers, Headmasters, Principals of High Schools, HSS and Colleges to maximise the awareness programs for students.
