Perhaps Pandu Lampiao is a pseudonym of someone I know but I doubt he has the nuanced chops that you often exhibit. Btw, not sure why you use goichis! : ) Moving on -- I remember Charmaine’s post. Thank you. My take is that those who did well by virtue of education etc., did a splendid number on the fellow Goans in more ways than a stray dog can. I also remember hearing in Mumbai Goans telling other to even destroy those Estado da India cards. Add to that has always been false sense of entitlement in various ways. This includes excesses of various kinds without any attendant responsibilities. It would frighten me to spell them out. That in my little book is the lowest. On art: Boycotting is good for the soul. So if one has to survive on selling perad, or mangad do it. I do many things besides selling a piece once in a way. So boycotting is a strategy which depending on who does it may have to be supplemented with a broader wholeness of being. Apologies for not being scientific enough. Peer at my amygdala baby. In general people wait to see if you have made it. The smarter we take them to be the more sadder they seem. Recently, I was telling someone about small pieces I have bought over the years. Nothing famous, no Indians -- but works that I look at from time to time. That's it. But, I have learnt not to expect others to do the same to me and my artistic laborer. This is not about giving up, but about not expecting any more from anyone. A small awakening! Certain things come and go out of fashion; I MEAN the way people believe they even understand art and visual culture. But the point is that curators, galleries, critics -- first of all have to learn to LEARN; engage with the artist. Learn to learn? Means to engage with ones trajectory. Call or ask only if you are truly interested. Do not set people up. The questions to be asked and reflected upon are: 1. Are X, Y or Z artist laborers being destructive, self-destructive. And why does it really matter to anyone? Why too? 2. Is one being just another pimp (any one who brokers in art, whether be it a writer, gallery owner, etc)** 3. What should one** not be writing about XYZs trajectory, path, whatever the brilliant English writing mind conjures. 4. Learn details. So if writing about say dance, then understand the idiom (so to speak). That would be movement phrases, what eye sees and the ear hears, natures of bodies, symmetries, stage space. groupings, dynamics, dynamics, DYNAMICS, motivation, gesture, etc. Only after that will it become clear that one is writing complete rot. And I am only pointing about dance, forget art. If music, then learn from those who really know,. If say drawing, then get your** crap together on various topics: cognition, heuristics. This is what will set the bar, and other bozos** will be swept away. 5. Forget trying** to get the girls. One does not get any with the half-baked modernity on display, basically a continuum in feudalism they learned from smarmy parents. Besides most femmes are not worth it. Just concentrate on honing your writing chops!. 6. Never force the artists hand. Some like me are not self destructive, but are very comfortable in our own gutters, and we keep going. One** can keep laughing that we will never make it and that is good for their plastic souls. It suits those** that came from banality.. 7. Do not use peculiar models to compare one artist with another. 8. Understand that it is not up to you•• to decide what an artist should be doing. *uck that crap. 9. Support the artists trajectory. Recommend. Develop a backbone. Make relationships, but understand terms from the artists end too. Do not expect when what is being offered is thin as teh soups served in prisons. 10. People like me on the whole are very respectful. I could not carry the stuff I do in my head id I was a dick. Get that in your** heads. People hardly even respond to an email, even when one commiserates at what they have gone through. SO IN THAT SENSE you are smack on, but its not just the booze and pork. Thanks for the opportunity to say a few things. I have been thinking a lot about the pork. The mensch hardly drink much. But the vegetarians (to include non-Christians, GSBs too) do not have their marbles together in any case. ++++++++++++ venantius j pinto > From: Pandu Lampiao <pan...@gmail.com> > > .>>>>>>>>>But keep an eye on Anonymous<<<<<<<<< > > Venantius, I was hoping someone would mention An*nymous. > > http://anonops.blogspot.com/ > > Very difficult cause we Goichis are a strange/wierd lot and there is > better understanding of bullying than democracy and freedom and > freedom of the individuals etc. > Must be the pork and the booze.
