Church has had problems galore especially during the Renaissance - the Borgais come to mind. Things have moved on since then; I would concede that it is not all kosher but the Church as a whole and Catholics should now be proud of their credentials - Caritas, is one example - a Catholic Institution. Medicine Sans Frontiers is another - okay it is not a Catholic Institution but born out of the Christian ethic of looking after the down and trodden.
