Here the discussion is/was on pasteis de nata and how a Brit Pharmacist got his hands on it. Nothing is available for free as mentioned below. Nice promotion of Vandana! BC I have eaten the egg tarts (locals specifically never refer to them as pasteis de nata) at the original Lord Stow's in Coloane. They're outstanding, but so is everything else at that wonderful little takeaway, especially the sandwiches.
Anyway, here's some news: pasteis de nata are freely available at Mr. Baker in Panjim these days, the production outsourced to a newly resident Portuguese migrant. This version is inconsistent however, I have sampled two indifferent sets but also twice eaten excellent pasteis. But I tend to agree that these pasteis should not be particularly highlighted in comparison, and in the context of Goa's hugely diverse baking tradition (see my essay : http://www.3quarksdaily.com/3quarksdaily/2011/06/the-pao-of-love-part-one.html ).
