In Salcette, there are avocado trees growing and no fruit, while some of them bear fruit sporadically. One hears they require shade and a slightly cooler climate.
Mupca market has avocados on sale (southern side where the veggies/flower sellers are if I am not mistaken, the chap brings in exotic veggies); they are the Jamaican (??) variety (very large) and are available in Jan-Feb and they come from the North (Himachal??).
