Dear Mr. Rangel,

The mistake that most people (especially brilliant Goans like yourself) make is that they consider Goans who talk about the so called LIBERATION of Goa as not Liberation at all are pro-Portuguese. You must understand that there is still a section of Goans who are neither pro-Portuguese or pro-India, but PRO GOA which includes MOI. I have even said that the Indian Passport has been forced down my throat without asking me. (Plebiscite). That I would want my Goan Passport or want to say I want to be with India. But I must be given a choice (under UN Charter). If you think that India can deny me my CITIZENSHIP rights spelt under the UN Charter and still want to stake the claim to be in the UN SECURITY COUNCIL, then you must think again.

Also, I have gone on record several times calling the Portuguese, humiliated dogs - who ran away with their tails between their legs in the 1961's Goa's fracas with India but had the chick to return like eunuchs to sign the CO-OPERATION TREATY with India in 1974, without taking GOANS, whom they left high and dry, into confidence. If they had, then Special Status for Goa, for which Goans have now started demanding, would have been a 'fait acompli' , just like the FRENCH - Pondichery and other areas remain FRENCH to this day since 1956.

If this is too much to understand, than we GOANS are ZOMBIES irrespective of out erudite intelligence.

Cheers

Dear Mr. Froilano Lobo,
If you are going to revisit the missed choices of history, we should go back a bit farther and complain that Salazar should have offered us a whole series of options, including choice between membership in a Portuguese commonwealth, and full freedom, and stupidly did neither. Why just pin blame on the Indian Union, and exonerate our Portuguese masters?

Dear Victor Rangel, Sir,

There may be a lot of truth in what Bernado says about Opinion Poll.
Yes. Opinion Poll saved the skins of Goan and kept Goa from being wiped off the map of the World.
But then, the Opinion Poll gave us Goans just two choices.
1. To Merge with Maharashtra
2. To be Unified with India as it's Union Territory [which later became one of it's STATES].

There should have been another slot on that ballot.

3. "REMAIN OUT OF THE INDIAN UNION" [YES/NO]
This would have given true representation not requiring India to hold the much talked about plebiscite after 1961

In that case persons like Bernado and many others including 'moi' would be greatly pleased and RESTED.

Cheers
