MODI'S RESIGNATION REJECTED: The national executive of Bharatiya Janata Party in an emergency meeting on Friday night in Panjim rejected Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's offer to resign for the worst carnage seen there for decades but asked him to seek dissolution of the legislative assembly and seek a fresh mandate. The political fallout of the Gujarat violence took centre stage as predicted at the inaugural session of the three-day national executive meeting of the ruling BJP yesterday.
