I want to read it so that my arguments will come from a point of understanding. Arguments for or against grounded solely in emotion or hearsay carry little or no weight. Basing arguments on facts, especially facts that people would rather not discuss, allow one to make a point that will cause people to think. Even if it does not convince them at first it will cause a crack in misguided reasoning.
