Hi omr, Jeremy and others: Unfortunately, I don't have any news for you regarding a new version of or replacement for the DFC.
The existing version of the DFC is not undergoing active development, though there are no plans to remove its functionality, so if new users are comfortable using it as is, they're free to do so.
