I'm not sure this can help you, but thought I'd mention my thought. I use eclipse to deploy my files to the app server through eclipse. You could use the GWT eclipse plugin and stick your files in the war file and deploy it that way. But I'm not sure I understand whats going on, but thought that might be worth a try.
