Google has provided an extensive set of example code using calendar, contacts, mail, site, authentication, and gadgets, powered by Python and GAE. Depending on the specific focus of your thesis, cloud computing means getting any available information from any source, independent of platform. I would generate web pages that offered a selection of RSS feeds, gadgets, mail calendar, and contact functions which reflected cloud computing, in the context of GAE. You have all the fundamental pieces, just put the web pages together which use URLs to get to the individual pieces. Pick a topic, eg recession, and show how GAE can build documents, feeds, mail, meetings, and gadgets around this topic.
