I've been asked to support a WordPress website that was deployed on AppEngine, I can log into the site at appspot just fine.
The documentation on how to setup an install of WordPress on AppEngine ends with "keep a copy of the local version handy, for making future updates" I don't have a copy of the local version, when I attempted to make a backup using (wp clone) a plugin already installed in wordpress, I get an error that PHP doesn't have permission to write the backup. Any advice as to how I can create a local version, and what accounts I need to be added to in order to deploy future updates? The staff that hired me, at least so far, has been unable to answer even basic questions thus far. Super grateful for any help.
