Hi Richard, The auth service URL (https://www.google.com/accounts/ClientLogin) uses HTTPS over SSL to get the auth tokens, so your hunch about a blocked port 443 seems to be correct. Good luck with your mystery-solving — and please do let us know once you crack it!
