Hello Chad, I just tried again and here is what I saw: - The first time I tried importing the calendar, I got the same error message "Settings error:..." - The second time, I imported the calendar, saw some events and clicked on one of them which removed the yellow notification on top which said "importing calendar..."; after that, I waited 2 minutes, refreshed the page, looked forward for upcoming events and it seemed to work fine. - I unsubscribed from the calendar and tried importing it again while checking "Make this calendar publicly accessible" and it also worked perfectly.
Regarding the test calendar, I can import it from Google Calendar but still can't download the ics file; not sure why this is happening. To summarize, it seems that the issue can still happen (this is a known issue<http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/static.py?page=known_issues.cs>) and a work around would be to do some action on the web UI while it is saying that the import is in progress or check the "Make this calendar publicly accessible" option. Using this option, you will also be able to share the Google Calendar URL directly (which you can get from the calendar setting page). I hope this helped!
