I'm not exactly understanding what you were doing. I'd say try now to see
if the problem you observed remains, it's possible that it was working as
you mention in the past but has been fixed since, or that you are just
remembering it wrong if it was some time ago. If you observe behavior now
that you believe is incorrect, let us know at code...@google.com. If you
can, include screenshots to illustrate, so it's easier to understand and
replicate exactly your steps.
