Hi there,

I am bringing up this issue here, since I didn't find any better
location for mentioning this issue.

I was wondering why size of my windows profile is increasing rapidly
and my C drive is getting full; yesterday I discovered that 4GB of
Google Desktop data is sitting in the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Google
\Google Desktop\34dbd5969c71

When we are installing Google Desktop it is not saying that it is
going to become this much big! it is saying that you need to have
about 100MB of space to install this software.

Usually the allocated space of C drive with 7200 RPM is limited and it
is mostly for operation system's required space and some other
software applications; there are usually other drives for storing data
which could be used for this purpose, where we have more than 1TB of
space.

Unfortunately it looks like that the Google Desktop doesn't have any
option to change the location of it's data files from the path above
to any other specific location on other hard drives.

I understand that the files inside this path include some personal
data from each user and this location was chosen because of privacy
and security reasons (windows NTFS default settings) but what is
making it more interesting is each user of computer is creating
similar size of data for indexing same files of data drives! that
makes it 4GB multiply by number of users!

thanks for your time and consideration, I am looking forward to some
solutions,

Best Regards,
Kasra Behbahani
