Hi Bernd, Unfortunately, as you said, the Google Gadget Editor doesn't support gadgets.* API calls. Additionally, we don't have any short-term plan to support those calls. Your concern is valid and understandable, so I'll talk with the igoogle team about it and let you know our opinion shortly.
