Hi Marijn, I'm not as familiar with the Webmaster Tools API though it looks like in your XML you have to update the <id> tag of the XML message to be something other than "http://www.example.com/news/sitemap- index.xml" (since I imagine your sitemap isn't hosted on example.com either).
