Hi again,
I finally got it to work, after reading through the following:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Picasa/thread?tid=6c5662c7117d5c5b&hl=en
I followed the steps in Robert Brown's first posting in the thread
above. Basically, I needed to remove the current Picasa2 directory
(containing the current db2 directory), then restart Picasa and let it
rebuild the database (a rather scary leap of faith). After Picasa
crunched along for a while, rebuilding the database, things were back
to more-or-less normal. The only notable thing that I lost was the
sort order within albums (I like them in reverse chronological order),
but I had few enough albums that this was easy to re-set by hand.
I hope Google comes up with a better way of doing this in the
future. Ideally, I'd like album information to follow the pictures
around. It seems like Picasa could use IPTC "supplemental categories"
to do this.
Bryan
