I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but at some point all of my
albums disappeared from the album list. All of my pictures are still
present on the drive, and when I go to download the web albums it
correctly recognizes that I already have the image files. However, it
does not recreate the albums!

Is there any way to recreate those album files? I've looked in the
location where the backups are supposed to be:

~/.google/picasa/3.0/drive_c/Documents and Settings/user/Local
Settings/Application Data/Google/Picasa2Albums/backup

but, unfortunately, there don't seem to be any backups (I only started
using it two days ago, but I would still expect at least one backup by
now). I've searched my drive with locate, and there were .pal files
at one point (using the stale database), but there aren't any after
running updatedb.

I guess my real question is, is there anyway to recover or regenerate
the .pal files from the Picasa web albums?
