So you have asked, but there is no and will not be any version of picasa
for linux, only windows unless google commits a lot of manpower, time and
money for a small market.  And they have shown no inclination to do so
yet.  It's something like .issing into the wind!

But saying "picasa 2.7 works" is like saying that my Model A Ford runs.
Good luck with that.
