Tomorstinson, you need hardly apologise - the misunderstanding that earlier versions of so-called «Picasa for Linux» is quite frequent even among native speakers of English. The reason is that versions up to and including 3.0.0 had Wine inbuilt, so that all a Linux user had to do was to download and install the Picasa package, i e, there was no need to worry about Wine or even know if the tool exists or what it does. In any event, you might find the information on this *Web Upd8 page*<http://www.webupd8.org/2010/04/how-to-install-picasa-36-in-ubuntu.html>helpful in installing Picas 3.8 on your system.
