I have the same problem with a site I created a fair while ago. It loads in a different swf depending on which menu item is clicked, and all works seemlessly, except for the google map page, which works first load, and on subsequent clicks the screen portion where the map is, is empty, although there's a flicker as it tries to load. Right clicking shows there is a flash app there, but nothing you can see. Refreshing the page and clicking that link makes it work (because it's the first click again).
Trying the hide method might make it work, but is a bit of a hack, and shouldn't be needed.
