Another issue, one that comes up more than not is the actual problem
the poster is having. While it may seem like the question wouldn't
require a link, often, the poster is mistaken in where the problem
lies, or even the general nature of the problem or question, so by
having a link, the context of the question can be examined and issues
that wouldn't occur to the original poster can be brought up.
Virtually every question would be best served by having a link.

As Larry also pointed out, many of the questions that really don't
need a link could best be answered by research or posting to another
group.
