IE is pretty pants at everything to be honest, can't believe the
effort that is required to get things to work properly between
versions 6, 7 & 8 :)

We're not using the PNG fix at the moment, but eventually this will be
implemented as standard. Basically it should work as if google maps
are running on a blank page.
