Yes.  Any further advice would depend on your current page/map which
you have chosen not to share with us.

There is no server at http://example.com, that won't work.  I assume
that was just a "for example" but all that does is waste our time, as
we have to ask for a link to the kml file you actually used so we know
what you are asking.  If you are passing a kml file to
maps.google.com, questions on that process don't belong here, they
belong in the google maps support group:
