Thanks for your response Lee. I came to the same conclusion, and have been looking into developing a proxy today. Unfortunately my PHP is more than a little rusty, and half-hearted attempts so far have been met with scorn from Google - "Your client has issued a malformed or illegal request". I haven't really looked into it enough to pose any substantive questions, but if you could provide any hints I'd be very grateful...
Of note, I stripped the /d/ from the full urls in my app and it seemed to work for the first image, but further requests from the app were blocked. Also Flickr does not, as I had thought earlier, allow any access of original images by non-paying members. While the membership fee is nominal, I'm concerned about potentially having to work around other restrictions placed on original images, presumably to protect users from copyright infringements. I'm glad to hear that you are running a proxy successfully and will pursue this myself. Thanks again, J. p.s. I'm making a full-screen viewer for my [amateur] photography, and after having original sizes (~1300px) available all through development while running locally I am unable to compromise now. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Picasa Web Albums API" group.
