New to Spreadsheet APi

nota good idea re-teaching myself Java ( been some time since I 
programmed). at the same time leaning the spreadsheet api.   I can get 
basic java programs compiled and run.  But when I try the java sample to 
get a spreadsheet.

I get this compiler error

I know I imported the jar files. but I not seeing the error?
