Sorry to hear you're missing the side-by-side layout! If you haven't
noticed though, check out when you mouse-over a sentence in the
translation, it will show you the original sentence that produced that
translated sentence.
Does this satisfy the desire to compare the two texts?
For the Google IME / Google Chrome / Google Translate issue, we're
working on a fix as soon as possible! Bear with us and we'll get it
fixed as soon as we can.
We really appreciate your feedback! Keep it coming and we'll keep
trying to make Google Translate better.
