NO, putting the mouse over a sentence to show the original
sentence does not satisfy the desire to compare the two texts.
When I hold the mouse over the sentence, the original text
disappears after a few seconds even though I haven't moved
my hand and I haven't moved the mouse! This is greatly
inconvenient and time-consuming for those of us who use
Google Translate as a learning tool. I just cannot understand
why Google eliminated the side-by-side format. Did the people
who designed this format actually try to put the mouse over the
text to see the original text and then try to compare the two
texts and see that it's more difficult and time-consuming that
way?
