Sorry, I have no idea but I do have the same question.
I am always trying to keep my browser as lean as possible to save room
for the webpage I am viewing (I love Chrome for that ;-) ), but now
Google forces me a toolbar I don't want!
Please, give us a way to get rid of that thing, or at least hide it.
