I've been using Google Translate for a long time, mainly for the Russian language. I have a few Russian friends and go to quite a few Russian websites, so I am using it often, and generally it proves to be a very handy tool for me.
However, recently I tried to type in a word for it to translate, and it told me this in response: "Type phonetically. Example: Type "privet" and hit space for "привет"." For one, if I could easily write a Russian word in its Latin form, I probably wouldn't NEED to use a translator. I'm just wondering why they stopped supporting the Cyrillic alphabet, as they claim to support a few languages that use the Cyrillic alphabet - and a big part of a language is how it is written. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
