There is a maven archetype I use to create my gwt projects. It is a bit old but with little modifications to the pom file it works fine:
mvn archetype:create -DarchetypeGroupId=com.totsp.gwt \ -DarchetypeArtifactId=maven-googlewebtoolkit2-archetype \ -DarchetypeVersion=1.0.4 \ -DremoteRepositories=http://gwt-maven.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/mavenrepo \ -DgroupId=com.foo \ -DartifactId=myApplication Then edit the pom.xml generated and use last gwt release <properties> <gwtVersion>1.7.0</gwtVersion> </properties> Eventually, use maven to setup eclipse, compile, etc: mvn eclipse:eclipse mvn test mvn gwt-maven:gwt mvn -Dgoogle.webtoolkit.compileSkip=true gwt-maven:gwt mvn package btw, after running mvn eclipse:eclipse, and in order to use google's plugin you need to change the ouput folder to myApplication/war/WEB-INF/classes and include the GWT library provided by the plugin.
