FYI, we have a very similar code in our project, with on major difference: 
we use 
HasRequestContext<http://google-web-toolkit.googlecode.com/svn/javadoc/latest/com/google/web/bindery/requestfactory/gwt/client/HasRequestContext.html>to
 have the RequestContext passed down to editors, instead of calling your 
setContext method "by hand".

the rationale: it was the exact same use case.
