Hi Narayana,

Sure – take a look at page 4 & page 5 of the PPRL Supplemental Guide in particular as I tried to outline site CDM flow there.

Also note that per the updated CDM 5.1, the PRIVATE tables are recommended, especially if you have other studies that are reliant on them but you don't actually need to implement PRIVATE_DEMOGRAPHICS and PRIVATE_ADDRESS_HISTORY.

If a site would like to extract the elements used for tokenization to a flat file, that would be fine.

Let us know if there's additional content that should be addressed in this PPRL guide that isn't in there, and we'll incorporate.

Thanks,
Jas

Dan, Brian, Narayana:

PCORnet put out an updated CDM 5.1 with revisions to the HASH_TOKEN table and additional guidance on the PRIVATE tables. There was also an accompanying PPRL Supplemental Guide (still in draft) that should provide sites with further guidance.

Short answer is:
1. For the upcoming refresh, I believe they're only looking for the empty table structure. 2. Sites will need to download 2 software modules: DeID (tokenization) + Link (transit token generation) to process PII locally to generate the tokens. Those tokens should be loaded into the CDM HASH_TOKEN.

#2 above is one of the reasons why we'd like to get ahead of any site security & compliance reviews, and software license agreements so we can provision the software to sites with ample time for the Feb 2020 install date.

I've attached 2 documents that should hopefully provide context ahead of the 10/1 walkthrough: 1. CDM HASH_TOKEN – describes the token schemes referenced in the CDM v5.1; generated by the DeID software module 2. CDM PPRL Supplemental Guide – still in draft mode, PCORnet and Datavant are seeking feedback from sites

Thanks,
Jas

    Hi everyone,

Is there any guidance available on how to population HASH_TOKEN,
or do we expect that will come out with the refresh query?  I see
mention of different “token strategies” in the CDM 5.0 spec

<https://pcornet.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/PCORnet-Common-Data-Model-v5-2019_07_161.pdf>
but I’m not sure where to find info about those approaches.

    Thanks,

    Hi Team,

Has anyone worked on the CDM HASH_TOKEN table? From the
description in CDM 5.0 specification, it looks like we are
supposed to use the PRIVATE_DEMOGRAPHIC table to create tokens.

Also, are we supposed to download the Datavant send module from
somewhere and use it to create tokens?

    Thank you,

    Narayana
