In terms of inciting people to upskill to write code for a FOSS EHR I
believe it is essential to have the database schema pinned down,
published and downloadable along with sample datasets of varying sizes.
I realise that changes to the db structure will be necessary from time
to time but this should be kept ta a minimum and any such changes could
be handled by a group of wise men who pay due consideration to (and are
answerable to) the GUI / middleware writers who will have to redo some
of their code when the schema changes.
