#1 : yes, or if possible, that the dropdown where you now have none,
wireframe and shaded, shows the names that are also available in the
advanced display modes. The point is that in  the semitransparent
preview or wireframe view, the design is not always easy to judge.

#2 : wouldn't it be possible in combination with a rhinocommand,
something like GHSelect, where GH temporarily 'bakes' the visible
geometry? Now I think of it, that I would find handy as well, a bake
visible option.
