Dave that is awesome! Thank you. Your confusion (regarding #3) is probably from the parts of the code I hadn't gotten to yet -- my next step was to add a loop to create curves between division points (0, divNum), (1, divNum-1), (2, divNum-2), etc, inspired by this project :
