Hi Max, glad it worked out. That setting should allow conduits by default. Something (or someone) had to disable it. If you're certain this is not your doing, I'll talk to Jeff LaSor to see if he knows what might be going on.
Regarding the Selection Box, I have no idea. This too is a problem for Jeff.
