i have created a surface (cylinder) that is divided according to a
grid (10 times on the U axes, 10 times on the Z axes) and i applied a
torus shape all around it, since the shape (cylinder) is normal than
all the torus are in the same size.
i was trying to create a script that would influence the subdivision
of the cylinder's surface (the grid) and therefore would effect the
pattern being applied on it. when the dot is close to the surface of
the area (for example) the grid becomes really dense and therefore the
patterns created on it would be really small where as the area far
from it would have a less dense grid and a bigger scale pattern. the
size of the pattern changes but the distance between each patterns
stays more or less the same
by changing the scale of the grid on the cylinder obviously the torus
patterned all over it would be effect as well and be formed in?
different?sizes on it according the grid.

hope you could understand what i mean and have the time to give me a
hand.

thanx again
